Depression Marathon Blog

My photo
Diagnosed with depression 16 years ago, I lost the life I once knew, but in the process re-created a better me. I am alive and functional today because of my dog, my treatment team, my sobriety, and my willingness to re-create myself within the confines of this illness. I hate the illness, but I'm grateful for the person I've become and the opportunities I've seized because of it. I hope writing a depression blog will reduce stigma and improve the understanding and treatment of people with mental illness. All original content copyright to me: etta. Enjoy your visit!

The big deal about going out.

I just returned from a girls' night out at a co-worker's house. Pizza and a movie and a bit of gossip, that's all. Why then was this such a big deal?

I'm confused Etta, was the other blog written by you or one of the others you were with?

sorry about the confusion. I write for thesecondroad.org. I wrote a post about it in April--I think. they found me thru this blog and asked me to write for them. quite an honor, and it is a great recovery site! please link your blog to it and tell your friends, as we are a grassroots organization whose goal is to help people in recovery. check out the rest of the site. I just started a running, health and fitness group over there, too.
